Entrepreneurs are almost always exceptional at the technical aspect of their business, but they often commit deadly ‘sins’ when it comes to selling their services or products. This leads to frustration over missed opportunities to make the sale, clients that can never make up their mind, and revenues growing more slowly than wanted.  Having the ability to drive sales in a continuous cycle and with ongoing integrity assures success and profitability at the end of the day. This seminar outlines 10 ‘sales sins’ that many business owners commit on a regular basis.  By getting past these challenges, entrepreneurs will be positioned to make the most of a sales opportunity when it presents itself. as well as creating more of these opportunities.

With close to two decades of success in developing new markets and securing existing ones, Fiona Walsh has developed systems and tools that take the guesswork out of business development and sales success. As a strategic partner company within the Flett Ventures Group of Companies, Fiona is also one of only 3 business coaches in North America approved to provide the highly successful and popular Ghost CEO Coaching Program.

She has repeatedly taken on new or underperforming product markets and turned them around, growing them from start up to multi-million dollar accounts in record time. With years "in the trenches" and having successfully broken through very difficult market environments, Fiona is an expert at the science of effectively closing deals, uncovering individual challenges with the business development process, and pinpointing the issues that are limiting success. She delivers practical and insightful solutions that have immediate impact on revenue, profitability and success.
After years in front of customers and colleagues, Fiona is an engaging and interesting speaker who regularly shares her experience and knowledge on various business topics. She speaks to business groups and associations and does custom training for corporate clients. She is also Chair of the Developmental Disabilities Foundation.

The June breakfast begins with our AGM. The Board of Directors will be elected/acclaimed and the President will report on the past year's activities at the Chamber.

Immediately following the AGM our guest speaker, Nicholas Sonntag will speak to us about
sustainability...what it means from a business perspective – for both large and small firms...what they need to consider...and then talk about his first hand experience and view on the awakening of China and how sustainability is a key issue there and for all of us.

Currently living in Gibsons, Nicholas Sonntag is President of Sonntag Consulting International Ltd. The firm provides strategic and specialized services to corporations and governments globally. He has been active in the international engineering and sustainability community for over 35 years, working as a senior executive for organizations – corporate and non-profit - in China, Canada, Sweden and Geneva.

SALMON, BALD EAGLES, RIVERS, FORESTS AND YOUNG PEOPLE WHO PROTECT THEM.

Victor Elderton is principal of the North Vancouver Outdoor School created in 1969 by North Vancouver School District as a 420 acre environmental reserve located in Brackendale ( 8 km north of Squamish). For 5300 students from the North Shore and elsewhere on the Lower Mainland, plus 300 from other countries, it is a once in a lifetime nature experience combining science lab studies and hands-on field trips.

In addition to speaking about Outdoor School programs to protect salmon, eagles and the natural environment generally, Elderton will comment on the devastating effect of last August’s caustic soda spill on the Cheakamus River and on wildlife that depend on that important salmon river.

Victor Elderton’s views as a leading environmental educator and as a member of the team of stakeholders working to bring the Cheakamus River back to life will be of interest to community leaders across the North Shore and elsewhere.
The Outdoor School’s national reputation of excellence was recognized recently in Ottawa with presentations of a Canadian Environmental Award and a Habitat Canada Stewardship Award.
