It is our pleasure to invite you to nominate a local business person to serve on the Board of The West Vancouver Chamber of Commerce. All nominees must be members, in good standing, of the West Vancouver Chamber of Commerce. You are welcome to submit your own name.
Each new Director elected will begin a two-year term of office on June 4th, 2008.
The expectations we have of our Directors include:
Self-motivated individuals with the ability to lead other people for the benefit of the Chamber.
A real desire to make a significant contribution to the growth and development of the WVCC.
All directors must serve on at least one committee during the term and be active with
additional task forces, events, etc.
Being prepared to commit about 10 to 15 hours a month to Chamber work. This includes attendance at Board meetings, committee or task force meetings and Chamber events.
Directors must be able to attend the Board of Director’s Strategic Planning session, contribute to the discussions, and commit to the collective decisions of the Board regarding the final plan. Typically theplanning session occurs in July.
Be prepared to make a modest financial commitment, including regular attendance at breakfast meetings and special events. (The WVCC holds 8-9 breakfast meetings a year and two gala events.)
The benefits of serving as a Director are many. You have a leadership position in your community and you have an exciting opportunity to initiate new ideas that can affect our business climate and the economic prosperity of the
region.
Please give serious consideration to nominating someone or letting your name stand for election to the West Vancouver Chamber of Commerce Board.
