NOMINATIONS FOR 2008/2009 BOARD OF DIRECTORS

  

It is my pleasure to invite you to nominate a local business person to serve on the Board of The West Vancouver Chamber of Commerce.  All nominees must be members, in good standing, of the Chamber.  You are welcome to submit your own name.  Each Director elected will begin a two-year term of office on June 4th, 2008.

 

Let me highlight the expectations we have of our Directors. A Chamber Director must:

 

1.      Be self-motivated and have the ability to lead other people in challenging work projects. All directors must serve on at least one committee during the term and many are active with additional task forces, events, execution of special projects, etc…

 

2.      Be prepared to commit rarely no more than 6 to 10 hours a month to Chamber work.  This includes attendance at board meetings, committee or task force meetings and Chamber events.

 

3.        Be aware of the financial commitment, which includes the regular attendance at breakfast meetings and special events. (The WVCC holds 8-9 breakfast meetings a year plus two gala dinner events.)

 

The benefits of serving as a Director are many. You have a leadership position in your community and you have an exciting opportunity to initiate new ideas that can affect our business climate and the economic prosperity of the region.

 

Please give serious consideration to nominating someone or letting your name stand for election to the Chamber Board.
